Facilities Management at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for our highly regarded Apprenticeship Program. The Apprenticeship Program began in 1982 and was the first Apprenticeship Program initiated by a state agency. This unique program provides an opportunity to learn a trade while working full time at UVA. Apprentices support Facilities Management's goal of providing consistent, cost effective, efficient, and reliable maintenance and service to the University’s facilities. These employees are trained through the apprenticeship program with the goal of becoming skilled in carpentry, masonry, plastering, or licensed in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC to support the maintenance, repair, and new construction of equipment and systems for the university community.
