Administrative Assistant

Primary Responsibility: Provide general clerical and administrative support for the Office of the Dean and Department of Communication and Journalism.

Discretion Required: Appropriate confidentiality is to be maintained.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Duties:

• Maintain calendars for the Associate Deans and Communication and Journalism Chairperson
• Coordinate routine communications for the Dean's Office
• Manage Visa reconciliation, purchase requisitions, check requests and expense reports
• Greet and assist all in a professional manner, especially visitors and students
• Schedule and coordinate college and department related meetings
• Other daily duties as assigned

Seasonal/Periodic Duties:

Assist with planning most college and department level events

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years administrative assistant experience
• Evidence of excellent job performance and increasing levels of responsibilities
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Takes initiative and constructively manages time
• Customer service focus

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification
• Experience working as an administrative assistant in a college or university
• Eagerness to learn and share new information

Hourly Rate.
