The A/V Technology Manager is a technical hands-on leader responsible for delivering audio/visual (A/V) solutions for the University. Under general direction, oversees and supports the University (A/V) technology design, implementation and support within classrooms, conference rooms and public spaces across campus. Responsible for managing Information Technology Services (ITS) staff, student workers and 3rd party service providers. Interfaces with ITS leadership, technical staff, and customers to resolve A/V solution escalations, coordinates communications related to service status related to his/her area of responsibility.  Â
Oversees A/V design, implementation, and operations.Â
Monitors staff workload and performance. Provides staff guidance on growth opportunities, priorities, standard procedures, performance and effectiveness.Â
Oversees creation and updates to documentation related to A/V solutions for customers and ITS technicians/support personnel; oversees repository for A/V system architecture documentation.Â
Provides escalated support services for A/V solutions across the University; instructs customers on equipment usage.Â
Analyzes A/V technology trends and provides input for future purchasing decisions and overall solution design; monitors/maintains A/V inventory.Â
Coordinates and tracks technology requisitions and orders, performs periodic walk-throughs of technology spaces and review of customer A/V tickets to determines refresh schedules, coordinate with A/V service provider on construction projects and scheduling of spaces.Â
Functions with minimal supervision, utilizes independent and collaborative judgment in decision making, demonstrates leadership and problem-solving skills.Â
Knowledge of design, implementation, and support for A/V technologies including equipment from manufacturers such as Crestron, Biamp, Panasonic, Aver, Vaddio, Shure, and Logitech.Â
Partners with St. Louis University Facilities department and general contractors to read blueprints, floorplans and elevation drawings to coordinate implementation of A/V in new/renovated buildings.Â
Strong communication and customer service skills.Â
Project management skills. Ability to manage multiple large and small projects at once, potentially with tight deadlines.Â
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and a willingness to partner with others and work to the greater good.Â
Ability to instruct, teach and tutor.Â
Performs other duties as assigned.Â
Bachelors degree in a related field and/or five (5) years of applicable work experienceÂ
